Co2 reactor

Can I this as a co2 reactor. ?

my local CL has it in its listing:



"Marine Depot duel media reactor with the 1200 powerhead" (like new) owner wants $75 for it :-)

Yes you can use that. I seen your picture before it got removed. That type of canister was one of my first reactors i just ran the co2 tube in via the intake tube and put silicon on it to seal it up filled the canister up with random gravel sizes plastic scrubbies bio balls filter media and coral sand.

Correct me if i am wrong the powerhead that will come with the unit will go into the tank and it will also be the return pump? or do i need to add a return pump, sorry i am bit confused with the set up

The powerhead goes into the tank, pumps the water through the canisters, and the outlet on the canister is piped back into the tank. You may need to add an outlet tube + elbow/tube connector because it's not in the picture.

This is the same thing right? can i use this a co2 reactor? sorry for the noob question, this is first reactor.

You could even just shove the co2 tube into the power head intake that would be a simple fix instaid of what I suggested before running the tube dirrectly in the canister.
