I am planning to have a carpet of glosso in my established planted tank. Now if they are started growing and stack each other forming a thick carpet..do I need to do any trimming?

you should trim if the bottom layer starts dying.

Im running into this problem now as my 90 gal. is almost 2 months old. I have a carpet several layers thick of Glosso and was wondering when and how I should trim/pluck it.

You might end up pulling it all out and replanting it... I mean you can't really trim the bottom layer... just a little maintenance for that perfect carpet look

I love the look of glosso and keep thinking I'd like to add it to my tank, but jeez, it sounds like so much work :?

I planted a bunch of different carpet plants in my 56 gallon tank to see which one would do the best under 2 feet of water and the lighting I picked out. So far everything is growing, both species of hair grass, the microsword, even the single little glosso plant I put in there is reproducing and spreading. Itís kind of like watching a battle in slow motion and I don't know which one is going to win, or even which one to 'root' for yet, and I'm not apologizing for the pun.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

It's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".
