Killing scuds with CO2

I have a 10 gallon shrimp tank that has become infested with scuds. Ever since the scud population has exploded the plants have taken a serious hit and I think the scuds are eating them.

I have removed all shrimp from the tank and have started blasting it with co2. I can already see the scuds dying. My question is how long should I do this to be sure all scuds are killed? Do scuds lay eggs? Do I have to wait long enough so that all eggs are hatched?

Anyone with any knowledge of this situation please help! I want these scuds completely gone or they will just repopulate again as soon as I stop the co2.
