I just put 6 rainbow shrimp in my 54 corner tank on Sunday. I have yet to see a single one of them. The plants are growing in but it's far from being dense.

I have 6 dwarf gouramis, 3 small angels, 2 flying foxes and 4 ottos. Any chance any of the fish ate them? I haven't seen any parts either.

I've heard that large flying foxes will eat shrimp. It's interesting that you should bring this up, becuase I just lost about 4 shrimp. They're bright red, so they are hard to miss, even in my densely planted tank. I keep blaming myself, thinking that I may have removed them from the tank by mistake when I was weeding.

I have a fairly large false SAE (3.5") in my tank, together with ghost shrimps, and I he doesn't seem to go after them. I would rather suspect the Angels... how big are they?

The angels are small - maybe 2". They have a hard time eating medium sized pellet food. I would think if they ate them then I'd find at least some shell or something.

I didn't know if the shrimp were nocturnal maybe? Weird stuff.

I have 5 Amano Shrimp in my 28 gallon tank and have to hunt for them to find them ... I usually look behind the tank first to make sure I'm not wasting my time! LOL

That wouldn't do me any good since the dog will eat them before I know there are missing!

Bust out the flashlight tonight after the lights go out. I don't have any rainbows, but my amanos do a lot more 'cruzin' at night.
