as far as nano salt tanks are concerned. I have a 12g nano cube that was salt for maybe 2 years. it is now a planted freshwater tank.
Including the tank I've spent over $1,000 on it. fish, coral, rock, water, salt, etc. I've had many ups and down with it... from it running beautifully and being a joy. to just algae and diatoms, to random fish deaths, [censored][censored][censored][censored] getting eaten, random coral die offs, buying the wrong coral, etc.
A month ago I sold everything in the tank for $75 to a buddy; I was done. I found it to be more of a hassle than a joy. some folks are really into the maintenance aspect of this hobby. I don't really find joy in that. you have to love maintenance to have a nano salt tank... or keep only inverts.
