I started overdosing with Excel using 2X the initial amount on the directions and my Discus fishes darkened and some mucus started coming off spots on some of the fish. One Pigeon Blood is staying in a top corner of the tank. When I saw this I did an immediate 40% WC. That was yesterday. Today most fish look fine except for that fish in the corner. Should I do another WC?

Oh geez, it's not 2X the initial amount, it's 2X the daily amount, up to just dosing the initial amount for a couple of days if you're feeling brave. I'd do another water change, but the damage has basically already been done. Maybe there are people advocating the 2X initial dose, but that is definitely dangerous and I don't think it's a good idea at all. I hope your fish pulls through.

Looks a little better. Sometimes it is a question of time. I was following the sticky on the Excel treatment and it didn't mention to follow the initial dosing or the daily dosing so I was not sure, instead of doing 3X I did 2X, thank God.

i usually do the initial dosing every other day or so. my discus dont seem to complain one bit.

on my 55 gallon i dosed 25ml for 14 days, no wc, algae gone, no fish harmed

The fish seem to have recovered. Thank God. I will wait a week to start the treatment at the right dose this time.

No need to wait. Do a nice water change and go for it. Possibly start with just the daily dose then ramp back up.

Excel purportedly only stays in the water 24 hours or so before it breaks down anyway, so you should be good to do.
