How much Flourish Comprehensive for EI and is it better than dry micros?

How much Flourish Comprehensive should I be using for a 75 gallon tank? The bottle says only 5 ml for 60 gallons, but I don't think that lines up with EI. It doesn't seem like enough. I searched the internet quite a bit trying to find this info. The sticky about dosing regime mentioned using it, but I couldn't find where it said how much. I figured out how much Seachem iron I need by using FertFriend -yeah I did something by myself! I also finally figured out how much of my Flourish Macros to use until they run out.

I will probably switch to a dry micro mix to save money, but I want to use this up. Do you guys think the Flourish Comprehensive is any better for micros than the dry stuff?

The directions on the Flourish Comprehensive bottle would be suggesting the dose based on an average tank with average light, with 4x65w on a 75g you want to dose 15ml 3x weekly regardless of the mIcro nutrient you decide to use.
The amount to dose for a 75 is in the sticky, along with how much iron to use and how much to mix either the TE or Fe.

Flourish Comprehensive is good stuff, but so is the dry, the choice is up to you on which to use, thats your money, the plants do not care either way.

Oh, I see. I didn't realize the Flourish was interchangeable with the Plantex (made into a liquid). That's simple enough. If one is not much better than the other, I think I'll choose cheap! 15ml 3X = bottle gone quickly = big $. Thanks so much!

FWIW LoachLady, here is a comparison of different Trace element fertilizers.
http://www.gpodio.com/fert_table.asp

Personally, I use a generic hydrophonic bought trace element mix in my tanks as part of EI - no problems that I can see, although I am currently in the process or testing Yamato Green, TMG, Plantex CSM+B, Plant-Prod, Kent Freshwater Plant Trace Element Mix, and Fuorish Comprehensive, just to see if there is a difference. It may be a while before I know as I have to test each one...one by one over several months in the same tank(S)

As you can see from that chart, Seachem Comprehensive is really "comprehensive" as it contains trace elements that others do not. What that means for plant growth or even if plants care for those extra trace elements, I have no idea.

CSM+B has the greatest amount of the "key" trace elements but lacks those other ones found in Seachem Comprehensive. What that means for plant growth, again, I have no idea. Some swear that the high amounts of copper in CSM+B are deadly to shrimp and have been responsible for shrimp deaths. Others claimed to have dosed CSM+B in tanks with shrimp wihtout any issues. So the jury seems to be out on this issue.

Yamato Green is not referenced at all, but Yamato Green contains Plant Auxins that are supposed to cause rapid plant growth. Yamato swears by this, others say it is nothing but marketing hype.

The whole idea of testing is to see if there is any difference, with all other things being equal and to see what works best.

Will keep people posted.
