co2 white strings

I have a new tank that is not cycled yet and have a diy co2 unit in iot with an electic diffuser. On my other diy co2 units I get thiese white strings on the output of the tubeing, but now I have it on alot of the stuff on my tank. it is not the mixture going into the tank becuase ithere is none of it in the hose?

Sounds like fungus. Pretty common on wood in new tanks. May not be from your DIY generator. Do you use a bubble counter/gas separator?

Nah, DIY C02 produces a white snotty substance. Is this what your seeing? Take another bottle, drill two holes in the lid, run your c02 generator bottle into it and then have another line going to the tank. Pull your c02 generator bottle hose into the cap a little farther down into the empty bottle and for the airline running to the tank have it pulled up some. I hope this makes sense..

Dumb question...is it plumbing tape sticking out? I've seen people freak over that before...it was pretty funny.
