Dwarf Hairgrass

Yesterday I put some Dwarf Hairgrass in my 5.5G using the method Tom Barr recently recommended (emerged growth). Most of it is upright and looking strong, however, there are a few strains that just won't stay upright... Any suggestions?

TIA.

90G - CA community tank (Jack Dempsey, Fire Mouth, Blood Parrot). 8 Tiger Barbs, 3 Clown Loaches, 3 bristlenose Pleco's.
20G (tall) - Planted. 4 neons, 8 rummy nose tetras, 3 ottos.
5.5G - Dwarf Hairgrass playland for Beta and 2 ottos.

I had a similar problem with some of mine, but after leaving it be, mother nature sorted itself out. There's still one or two strands at crazy angles but as it grows more dense, the only real option is straight up towards the light.

So long as you are getting lots of lighter green strands indicating vigorous new growth I wouldnt worry.

how often did you spray it? and what amount of ferts did you put in?

my lid is glass and covers the entire tank.

efish, i had the same problem, but like cjunky, I just let it happen. Everything filled in more and it looks pretty natural now. I had it in ADA Amazonia II, and sprayed every or every other day. No ferts while emerged though. I also had a glass lid on it.

Currently resetting...

no ferts? not even some excel or micros? I'll admit that i "cheated" and used water from my 20G planted to fill it up the top of the substrate level. I'd think they'd want something.

I'm going to be adding HC too. Hopefully this weekend.

No ferts while emerged, just the ADA soil and water.

Now that the tank is filled I'm double dosing Excel, waiting to add CO2, and will eventually get on a fert regiment, but there's still Nitrites in the water.

Currently resetting...
