You can go look at others tanks and get an idea. But what most do is plant the large plants to the rear, medium plants in the middle, small in the front. Red does not normally make a good center piece. Try mixing your colors up a bit. try planting in sections but not everything all in one place. Divide stims, planting them an inch apart or so. Remove all the plants for pots and fur stuff and plant them directly. Attach some plants to drift wood.
After planting, set back and look at it for a week or so and when you see something that looks odd, think about moving it. After a while you will get it just right and then it will be time to trim and maybe you will want to move something again. This is a never ending hobby. That's what I love about it.
Its your tank. Your style. If you like it great, if you don't then change it.
There is no right or wrong way as long as your fish are happy and you are happy.
Just have fun

I feel limited by space its a tall tank as tall as it is wide, we liked it for angels but now planting is a whole new ball of wax lol

I noticed your tanks foot print is square. depending on where you set it up, you might set it up to view from all sides with the tall plants in the middle and small plants closer to the glass. If this can be set up in the middle of the room, that would be cool.

When I was getting started about a year ago, the owner of my LFS showed me a book that had some sample layouts in it. I ordered my own copy, got some good ideas from it. I still refer back to it when I'm looking for something new to try.

One thing that Kasselmann recommends is to sketch out a plan to work from. Here's a sketch I was working on last weekend - kinda messy, sorry.
