Wood

1. I found this wood at the lake last year, its been outside eversince dry. I am soaking it in the tub, does anyone have input on how to do it right, without getting blackwater?

2. I love the shape of this wood. But there are so many possiblities of what I can do, I cant decide. What do yall think. please vote! I messed up the poll pictures. the number 1 is this

How tall is it? It would look with the tip pointing up, so it looks like a tree.

That might actually be pretty cool. You would probably want it off to one side of the tank though (i'm thinking to the left).

I have been soaking it for 24 hours and it is still floating. How long do I have to soak it before it will sink?

Every piece will be different. If you have a large pot and can boil it, that will help it to sink faster. When I have had pieces too large to boil, I have used very hot water to soak them in, with water changes a few times a day, and this seems to help the process along as well. HTH

Right now I have the wood in my fishtank, still floating. I am just letting it soak till it decides to sink. My frogs are loving it tho, they are getting on the log and coming out of the water and checking everything out. LOL. hopefully it will sink soon. one plus tho, the water hasnt turned that ugly brown color yet.

Speaking of frogs, I'm not keen on the 1st photo. It does look like a deformed frog...

Deformed frog? I dont see it, see I was thinking of putting moss and java fern on it either way. So I think I see something different
