Aquarium pest

Despite cleaning my new plants and giving them a bleach bath I noticed I have some new pest I've never seen before. They are very very small and white they appear to jump and swim very fast and are attracted to bright light they look like some kind of flea. I'm not going to post a picture of them because they are so damn small the camera doesn't pick them up. I have white sand so they blend in good. Does anyone know what they might be and what I can do to manage them. Thankfully they aren't in my 5 other tanks.....yet

Copepods?

"Copepods are small and funny looking one eyed crustaceans. They usually move around the tank glass and other surfaces, usually with one short leap at a time. They are completely harmless. There's are many different colored species."

Water Fleas, Daphnia

"Water fleas are usually used as fish food. They are tiny crustaceans and are easily recognized of their jerky vertical "swimming". They are completely harmless and really interesting creatures"

I think they are daphnia. I've been doing this for 10 years and have never seen them before I need to get my eyes checked.

Wouldn't consider them a pest but a sign of good water quality. As for controlling them supposedly limiting your feedings help, but it didn't help me. I had tons of copepods until I added CDP to my tank they bam in three days all gone and some very fat CPD.

I noticed the same exact thing in my 2 gallon spec shrimp tank the other night. Glad to hear they are harmless.

I had these for awhile. Also seen similar things called seed shrimp.

I added a couple of psuedomugil red neon rainbow fish, and they ate them. I think they probably ate some of my pumpkin shrimp babies as well if I had to guess, but that wasn't really a problem as I still constantly have babies.

I lost both rainbow fish (jumpers) over a few months, but I haven't seen the seed shrimp return.

So I think some fish will eat them over time if they bother you. They did seem to be harmless as mentioned, but they always kind of annoyed me.
