using 6.6gallon Petco Lighting to Supplement?

So I've been preparing my 29 gallon planted tank with the mindset that I was going to go low tech. But then I realized I have gathered a DIY CO2 system, eco-complete, root tabs, liquid fert, and Excel... I've now decided that I want to open up my options, especially the ability to grow lush carpet plants. However my lighting seems to be a barrier as all I have right now is a 30" Finnex Planted+.

I have the lighting fixture from a 6.6 gallon Petco Bookshelf aquarium. The light out of the stock doesn't seem too strong. I was wondering if I should replace this light, and if so, any recommendations? Keeping in mind that it's going to supplement my Planted+ (don't want TOO much light now..)

Thanks for the help!
