Question regarding baby brine shrimp

I just recent hatched my first batch, and now it was super easy but my apisto fry numbers are low currently so i dont want to hatch everyday if possible. So i hatched for 24hrs and the hatchery is beaming with life. I fed my fry, there bellys are glowing now, so what do i do with the remaining bbs. Can i hook the pump back up and let it keep bubbling until tomorrow and feed again? Or is there a way to store them for a few days. I had 100+ apisto fry but they have been dieing off prolly due to not eating the right thing. so now im hooked up with bbs how can i make one hatch go for a couple days

Baby brine shrimp grow quickly, and unless you set up a system to feed them and grow them out, they become mostly shell, even though they are larger. At that point they are not a very good food.

What you want to do is hatch some every day but hatch less. The good news is that in a few days you can switch your fry to other food, such as micro worms.

The advise from Dave sounds right. Also to kind of get them started on easier food, I like Hikari "First Bites". If you sneak just a tiny bit of it in as you feed the BBS, it seems like they kind of get used to thinking both are food???

I was feeding the first bites which they took but they are in a marina hang on breeder the air powered one and it settles on the bottom and seems to fungus up.

As it's my first batch I just made to much. So I'll just make less daily. I kept the air on it and will feed again in the morning and then make a new batch

While we are on the subject of foods for fry, one trick some breeders use to get maximum growth, is to first feed a dry food like Hikari First Bites and then a little later feed a live food, such as micro worms or white worms. The fry tend to gorge themselves and grow.

Yeah i had a nice grindal worm culture and i let it crash and die. So i had been trying to allow this pair to raise up the fry in a mature tank but they are just terrible parents. So this last time i pulled as many fry as i could. They have at least a 100 fry at a time. but its funny when i fed the bbs yesterday i could see there little stomachs glowing after they ate. So i gotta get a culture going again of grindal worms and then just hatch smaller batches of bbs daily. i had read on the site that i got my eggs from that u can keep the bbs alive for 2-3 days by transferring them to petry dishes and refrigerating them. But its much easier to just hatch them daily. thanks for all the help guys
