Maintaining slopes.

Hello I am wondering how you guys keep your slopes from flattening out?
It seems like mine eventually flatten due to fish and slight water movement.

I keep mine up with short walls I make with strips of thin plastic or that corrugated plastic used for signs, fill up on the back side of the wall and slope to the front

i use rocks as a retaining walls and fill up on the back side wall to make a slope. 6" at the back corner and slope 1.5" to the front using eco complete substrate.
