difference between pH and ORP monitors

What is the difference between a pH monitor and an ORP monitor? Is one better than the other and can either be used for regulating CO2 levels?

pH = levels of hydrogen ions (hydroxide ions too, I guess) in the water.
ORP = oxidization-reduction potential. Measurement of the water's ability to oxidize contaminants/toxicities.

To control CO2, use a pH controller.

I was reading on a salty forum that they use ORP for regulation of ozone injection. I know a person that has offered me a pinpoint ORP monitor for a really good price.

Are you saying that these can't be used for CO2 then?

No, they cannot be used for CO2 injection.
