You say you "just" got them?

Really, if that's the case, just provide them an ideal environment, and give them time. Might take a few weeks to bounce back from the stress of shipping, getting used to your tank, etc...?

NOTE: To do a *SEARCH* and get the answer you want, its often best to go to "Advanced Search" and search in the title only.

Also, what is your set-up like?
What kind of lights, are you dosing? (Vals seem to be excel sensative), etc...

Val? I agree w/Nbot. Val seems to be able to survive anything and you will be struggling to keep it under control before long. My last tank used diy perferated acrylic sheet that went from the bottom to just about a half inch above the substrate to keep the vals limited to only certain area of the tank. Before that, I just couldn't seem to keep them in check...

ok it is a 20W. I found that rock. i set up the tank and let the rocks sit in there for a month. they raised the PH, which is good because i have cichlids.
