Just got my dry ferts today.

My dry ferts just got here, ive order KH2PO4,KNO3,K2SO4. Im looking all over the forums to find a way to mix the ferts but its a different answer everywhere. Some say just to put the power directly in the aquarium, others say to get a 500 ml container and mix it with tap water. Im a little bit lost. I will be getting today a measuring cup. My tank is a 29 gal, and i have 130watts of light. But at the moment im turning on one bulb which is 65 watts. Also have DIY Co2. I currently have some hair algae on my anubia, some brown algae on tank walls and some black/brown leaves. I will like to do the EI method. Any help would be great.

I just dump it into the tank right above the outflow of my filter so that it gets sprayed around a bit. Mixing it would be better to get it more evenly dispersed quickly within the tank, but I'm just too lazy.

You'll probably only need to dose KH2PO4 and KNO3 at first since the K2SO4 is really just another source of K which is available in the KH2PO4 and KNO3. If you find our you're deficient in potassium, you can always dose K2SO4 later.

This is the tank right? I would perfer to do dry dose very little amounts first.
Before that i would bump up your co2 to get rid of algae first.

It doesn't make MORE CO2. It makes it into a delayed-release type system so that the CO2 output is more sustained. The Jell-O prevents the yeast from consuming up all the sugar at once.

And you don't need a Hagen canister or anything...just use a plastic 2L bottle.

What frozenbarb said the Diy method is much cheaper. I think you should use a co2 tank instead of diy but atleast you have some co2 going into the tank.

Personally, I don't like to see my fish try and eat the stuff so. I use a small container and put the ferts in the container the night before so they are dissolved. In the morning I dump the bottle into the tank. I know a lot of folks dump it in dry, stresses me to see the fish mouth it and spit it out!
