So I have a..special situation. I have a bit of algae in my ten gallon but my shrimp and snails are doing alright with that. But in my twenty gallon, I have an axolotl. So its difficult to light plus I'm on a budget. Anyways, dirted tank used to have a bunch of plants, but this algae killed them all. I wanted to know what this is and how to prevent it, because aside from the lazy gigantic pond snail, I can't keep inverts in there because small snails he will get impacted with eating, and I drop a shrimp in there every once and a while but he usually munches on them. When I replant I will have probably cfl lights, and I'll strip down the tank pretty well so the algae doesn't have a chance. Well here it is
Its thick and gunky and clogs up my filter. Help!
