Set up my new 55, but no good pics

I just set up my 55 gallon tank with hardscape, SMS, and HC. However, I am having problems getting good photos, since I only have a point and shoot digital camera (Canon PowerShot SD550). Is there any way to get a decent pic out of this?

Can't wait to see it! I'm also setting up my 55 gal, almost done rinsing the oil dri. I wish there was SMS, as it seems to create so much less dust -_-
What are the specs on the tank? I'm actually really low tech atm, but I'm gonna slow upgrade(light coming soon, ordering co2 soon).
And no suggestions on pic taking since I use my DSLR to get pics. Still hard to get nice pics of fish since it was such low lighting.

Ah, lucky DSLR would be wonderful, but I am a college student.

Tank Specs:
55 Gallon
2x55W PC (Will soon be 4x55W when my AH Supply order comes in)
Eheim ECCO 2236
SMS Charcoal substrate

Plants (Planned):
HC
Dwarf Hairgrass
Blyxa Aubertii
Rotala Indica
Hygrophilia Polysperma 'Ceylon'
Ludwigia Repens x Arcuata

Inhabitants:
RCS (wildforms and overflow from my shrimp tank, trying to establish a colony that won't die out from predation)
Amanos
Diamond Tetras
Cardinal Tetras
Otos

And I haven't decided on my last fish. I may get apistos, rams, or an angelfish.

Does your camera have a mode selection labled "P"? If so, try that.

Ah, nice set up! I'm upgrading from 40watts to 2x 55, lol. HOB filter, gonna be filstar in a few months. Any co2? And how well does did your 2x 55 grow before? I wanna see what I can grow...

And I think I'm gonna stock otos, albino corys, neon tetras(maybe), angel, and blue rams. Hopefully they're compatible and enough room.

I am also going to buy a Rex solenoid regulator soon for CO2. Right now, the tank is (semi) dry, so CO2 isn't really that huge a concern. I am trying out the method suggested by Tom Barr where you grow your HC emersed before adding water.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check my camera for that when I get home from the lab.

Does your camera have a M mode?
Do you have a tripod? Does it have a hole underneath the camera to attach it to a tripod?
