Snail population boom... will this affect my cycle?

Hey all. I got a 36g tank 3 weeks ago and I've been trying to cycle it. I've had 5 serpae tetras in there for about half of that time, but I ended up getting some unwanted snails from plants I ordered online. The snails just keep reproducing and getting bigger. I counted 15 of them JUST climbing on my tank last night and theres dozens more on my sand and plants.

Amyway, my question is, is the increased bio load from all these snails going to mess up my cycle? I am planning on getting some assassins to take care of them eventually, but I didn't want to add them until the cycle was complete. So far my ammonia levels have steadily increased to 1.0ppm and I've had readings of Nitrite up to .25ppm but its been back to 0 for a couple of days. My Nitrite readings have gone up to about 5.0ppm as well.

I'm not certain about this, but I really don't think so.

I think the snails primarily eat detritus, bacteria, algae, fungus, biofilms, etc. Probably mostly stuff that would end up just decomposing anyways.

If anything, I think they are just temporarily diverting some of the nutrients out of the cycle, sorta like a terrace on a hill.

plus, the actual bio-mass of the snails is pretty small, and what they are eating/excreting is going to be an even smaller fraction of that.

I have a tank with bladder snails on purpose and no issues with them.

The snails won't affect your cycle at all.

Won't hurt anything. Like Kat, I have a tank dedicated to growing ramshorn and bladder snails that I created after eradicating them from my other tanks - and realizing how big a mistake that was.
