I am planning on setting up a new tank. I am planning on carpeting with HC. The other plants I will be using are blyxa japonica, balansae crypt, and either giant hair grass or some kind of val. I know DSM is good for HC but I was wondering if it would be good for the other plants too. Should I plant them all or just some of them then when filled add the others? Also I've heard of people getting fungi and spider mites. Any suggestions to avoid these?

Oh and there will be Christmas moss. Also if anyone has any tips for super gluing moss to driftwood that would be appreciated. Like a specific brand that is fish safe

Blyxa, Vals, cannot be grown emersed I think. It is probably not worth the trouble to let other plants beside HC go through the transition from emersed to submerged.

You can use super glue to glue moss to driftwood, or read on this forum where others have tried using yogurt mixes etc. There are many articles/posts on the DSM (dry start method). Unfortunately I've only grown HC submerged directly, so cannot comment on its DSM here
