How do you disinfect your plant?

What kind of products do you use and who/where can we purchase it from?

Why disinfect your plants? Most who do use a highly diluted bleach or potassium permanganate solution.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

Ebay almost always has PP. I've also found it at Sears. It's Kenmore brand " for use to regenerate manual iron removal filters". I found it near the water filtration section at a large Sears.

Be careful not to stress the plants too much. You don't think a salt bath is good enough? Believe me, if parasites/diseases will come on anything, then it will likely be the fish...and I doubt you'll put them in a bleach solution for "disinfection". But if you want to be "extra" careful (wash your hands twice before dinner) then by all means go ahead, it can't hurt

There's no reason to disinfect plants. It won't keep algae and snails away for very long. All it does is stress your plants at the time when they are acclimating.
