The HOT Magnums have an internal air purge line which sucks air from the top of the internal casing and injects it into the discharge line. Most likely you have air bubbles being sucked into the intake from the airstones or you could have a leak in the top cover of the filter which could introduce air in. For the latter take the cover off and make sure your gasket is in good shape, a replacement is around $5.

Airstones are not reccomended for a planted tank as the extra air surface agitation lowers dissolved CO2 in the water.

You may need to tell folks more about the air bubbles. Are they coming out of the filters, airstone, etc.? The cause could be as bad as a canister leak or as good as pearling from plants. Drifting throughout or hanging on the surface?
