NEWBIE 26 gallon planted tank starting all over again due to aglae hair. NEED HELP???

Hello guys! My name Kenneth I am a newbie with a planted tank. I have 26 gallon bowfront with a few low tech plants coralife t5ho 48 watts 65k regular gravel added some roots tabs at the beginning they where growing nice for a couple months.I did water change once a week. Then it Started to grow aglae hair smh! So I decided to add seachem flourish, excel, iron wasn't helping me. So I decided I wanted to start from scratch with everything new.

New 26 gallon bow lol
Lighting finnex ray planted led
Three bags eco complete

In your previous tank with 48watts of T5HO you might have honestly been more into the high light range and without Co2, fast growing plants and propers ferts. That was probably why you ran into hair algae. What t5ho fixture was it?

Are you using only one finnex ray for the re do and how high is it mounted?

Thanks it was a coralife t5ho. Yes just one ray it is not high mounted. Just on the fixture legs

hmm even with one finnex you might be medium to high light, you might want to consider rethinking your strategy to a high light tank or raising the fixture a little so its more in the low light area

I have 1 Ray2 and even with high light plants I had a little problem with hair algae in the beginning. Even now, I still get a bit of algae on my low light plants. The high light ones do just find though. I would suggest having a lot more med-high light plants. Otherwise, algae will be an issue.

One thing that worked for me was planting as heavily as possible right off the bat. Did a total tank overhaul (new dirt, driftwood, plants) before I had a massive amount of BGA as well as BBA and it literally has disappeared in a few days.

Well that's just like.........your opinion man.

If you can return the ray 2 yet I'd return it and look at a fugeray this will give you low to medium light also, if you have eco complete I'd put some dirt under that to supply nutrients for root feeders then cap the dirt with your eco complete. If your interested pm me and I'll go into more detail, with that setup your tank would be pretty easy to care for aswell
