Hi new here

Hi hope i'm posting this in the right section!! Please feel free to move it if not.

Anyway just pooping in to introduce myself, the name is Tim living in merseyside England, I'm just about to move into my new house so will be soon setting back up my tank, it's a Trigon 350 which I am wanting to become heavily planted with just a large (150) school of neons, ive been keeping fish for about 15 years on and off, with anything ranging from full marine reef to some monsters like my 20" motoro rays.

Anyway enough rambling.........

1st question for you lot is I want to achieve a green pasture look in the forground of the tank can you throw some names at me on what to look for.

Cheers for now

lol...i think you mean "poping"...

Welcome to The Planted Tank!! The look your going for can be achieved many different ways. first step...need your tank and setup specs. Do you plan on using CO2? Fertilizers? what kind of lighting do you have? all that good stuff...

LMAO...nice call Mike. Was laughing so hard at the original that I lost my mind...

So the pasture look...

hmmm....dwarf hairgrass seems to be the logical choice. However, I know for a fact that a certain someone who just corrected us both above...cough cough Mike...gets really creative with Hemianthus micranthemoides.

I would post a picture, but I would need his permission of course...

I use Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, personally don't like the look of hair grass much.

Lots of light, I'm sure a pendant will work out good for you, lots of CO2 and nutrient rich substrate will work in your favor.

Thanks for the replies guys, gonna be going for eco-complete substrate, with maybe a jbl c02 system, lighting hopefully at least 150w money dependant.

Hairgrass could be good, how many other options are there for ground coverage?

Cheers

Its limitless and up to your imagination...just depends on how much maintenance you want to put on your self...lol.

Have you looked through the plant database here? I would check there....you could even look through some of the pictures that people have here for some examples.

There are some real artists here!!!
