Book Recomendations?

Does anyone have any reference book recommendations. I realize that the internet is awesome and has all the information you could possibly want, but I like to keep some good info on hand since I don't really have great internet service at home. I think we have all heard of "Ecology of the Planted Aquarium" by Diana Walstad. Any other recommendations?

Subscribe to Tom barr's site at the Barreport.com and read all the material in the newsletters section. It has detailed reports on everything from fertilization to CO2, best 12? bucks I've spent.

I haven't seen many books that contain the amount of information that the internet can provide. I like to bookmark as many articles as I can that seem interesting and useful. You could make these sites available offline if you need to for reading material when the internet isn't available for you.

Walstad's book is good.

Amano's series of "Nature Aquarium World" (books 1-3) is good. I believe there was a recompilation printed within the last 5 years as well (I only have the Japanese title). These books are good for inspiration.

Kasselman's "Aquarium Plants" is good too.

You may also want to do a search of the forums.

Everyone should read Walstad's book.
If everyone did, there would be a lot less "help, is my tank cycled?" threads around here.

For beginners this site has an excellent guide at the top "Planted Tank Guide". I would also recommend the various forums, not just The Planted Tank. You have the Barr Report, Aquatic Plant Enthusiats, Aquatic Plant Central, AGA, IAPLC and to an extent MFK (not really for plants).

AGA has a special running now with Barr report. Join AGA and get a year free of the website.

i think websites are a great resource to get a higher level understanding. but nothing can compete with a book written by someone super knowledgeable for getting info on lower level details.

thanks UDGags, i'll be taking a looking at that list a little closer after the holidays
