New Setup 40g, help wanted

Hi everyone, I am setting up my first planted tank. I have previously kept reef tanks and fresh water a long time ago. I am looking for advice on anything I can change or do better, especially puzzled with the water situation. Coming from Salt I have a ro/di setup which I used to fill up my tank. I have read a lot of mixed inputs about whether just use tap, ro, or ro/di. I now understand that ro/di is overkill, but since I already have it mixed I was wondering what to do. Keep what I have or just use tap?

My tap parameters are:
PH- 7.8-8.0
GH- 300mg/ 16.8
Kh- 140mg/ 7.84
TDS: 525

My RO/DI is:
PH- <6.0
GH- 60mg/ 1.68 ( I added some Seachem Equilibrium).
KH- none
TDS-0

Thanks for your time and help.

If it matters my current setup consist of the following equipment:
Tank: 40g Breeder
Lights: JBJ Fermosa 2x96w one 10k and thinking about a 6500k suggestions?
Co2: 10lb with milwaukee regulator, just using generic diffuser.
Co2 controller:??? I have a aqua controller jr. I might use or was thinking about just getting the milwaukee Suggestions?

So I am looking for the following suggestions:

Water: Tap, RO, or RO/DI
If tap or other suggestions on parameters? I read Rex Grigg's startup, but he gives such a broad range of parameters, looking to narrow it down a bit.
PH-?
GH?
KH?
Light 6500k? Open to ideas, but uses straight pin.
Co2 controller, do I need?

Thanks for your time and help, I am looking forward to making a journal and posting pics shortly. Thanks again.
