This may seem strange....
I really want my two large Java Ferns to stop producing plantlets. Each fern is completely covered in them. I recently pulled a whole load off and covered a large piece of bogwood with them. But there are still far too many for my liking. Not only does it make the plants look messy, but there are about 5 or 6 plantlets on each leaf of the mother plant, this appears to be draining the plant and the leaves are becoming skeletonised. Eventually I think I will be left with all these baby plants and 2 dead mother plants.
I would rather just have my two BIG mother plants without the babies....has anyone successfully managed this, or is this just what happens with Java Ferns ?
Thanks
Tom

IME you can't stop it from happening. If the Java fern is happy it's going to make babies.

It just happens. Keep picking off the plantlets.

I dont have the solution to get them to stop reproducing but I do have a solution to the overcrowding issue... you can pick them out and ship them to me

I've decided to cover 2 more pieces of wood -1 for the Mbuna tank, 1 for the puffer tank.
Once that's done, any that are left I will gladly post to the UK for postage costs..
