Does the Gold Gourami eat plants?

Does anyone know if it is a proven fact that the Gold Gourami eat plants? It looks like mine are nibbling on Anacharis and Cabomba, but when I try to get a closer look they take off. But, I see no damage.

many fish seem to "nibble" on plants
when all they are doing is rubbing the
surface for food bits or micro organisms,
they may be bored and like to feel stuff,
and satisfy their "nipping" tendencies.
either way, I wouldn't concern yourself.
Besides, Anacharis and Cabomba grow
faster than any one fish could consume.

i have had a few gouramis. spypet is right in they nibble the surface of plants to get what is growing on them. they will eat hair algae off plants as well. never have seen them actually eat the plant material.

I had a fish that really did eat the top off a beautiful Cabomba. He stopped though after I flushed him down the toilet.
