my 10 gallon planted

hello, this is my biggest tank, my 10 gallon (out of 3, also have a 2.5 and a 5.5)

for this tank i have-
plants:
  • originally one corkscrew val, multiplied into 6 or so
  • a java fern
  • java moss
  • a cabamba (looking to replace, practically dead)
  • an anacharis that went crazy that i turned out to really like
  • a banana plant
fish:
  • a dward gourami
  • 3 platies
  • 1 (soon to be 2) guppie that i raised from a fry that i got from a friend
  • a mystery snail
  • an otocynclus
hardware and such:
  • 20 gallon power filter
  • 2 x 10 watt compact fluorescent lights (2 WPG)
  • DIY CO2, using a coke bottle and a mellow yellow bottle
here she is:

maybe a better picture:

any suggestions would be nice, especially as to what to replace the cabamba with

thanks

You can cut and replant the anacharis in bunches that would look nice.I would push everything back some ...Ie create a foreground.Try putting some anacharis in the back corner,You should get some A.petite also nice in any size tank.

i got a fern today and replaced the cabomba with it, do you think i should still snip the anacharis and place it in the corner behind the new one, (i would move the new one slightly forward and to the right)

thanks

I still think you should move everything back. The tank looks jumbled to me, no real sense of depth.Yes definitely cut that anacharis.

i dont really want to cut it just to trim it, i like how it covers the top and whatnot, gives it a lush look, but i'm wondering about trimming and planting what i trim.
as for moving everything back, not sure there's a lot of room to do that....

This is my current tank. I have some of the smaller sword in the front now just to take up room before I can find some real small bottom stuff like java moss.

What do you all think? I also am going to unpot that anubias and put it on the driftwood to the far right. Hopefully it will fill up that side of my tank.

zackish: i like your tank, i just am a fan of the heavily planted lush look, at least in my 10, and the anacharis and java fern does that for me
