A strange thing happened - at the moment I moved all fish out from my first barely planted tank into my new 36G planted tank and considered to keep the old one as a quarantine tank for new arrivals, there is an explosion of small parasites <?> in the original tank.
Note, this original tank had typical starter's Ich and was treated with heat, RidIch+ with success, which I sealed with couple days of MelaFix (tea tree extract).
After that, i have enjoyed the tank for good two weeks w/o problems.
My feeding consists of Tetra dry flakes, crisps and freeze dried tubifex worms (by Wardley). Also occ. frozen brine shrimp (from San Francisco Bay brand).
Can any of these be a source of the invasion ?
There are small white less than pinhead in size "fleas" crawling mainly just above the gravel level but also what looks like white pin worms very thin and
up to 1/4" in length. On close inspection, they seem to have a centipede like legs but they rather glide on side walls.
I tried to capture them on camera.
What is it, is it dangerous
or can it be eaten
Shall I try to prevent an outburst in my new tank (no signs of it yet) ?
