I have two issues I need some help on. The first is how do I get rid of beard algae. It is taking over my smaller plants. IS there an algae eater I can buy or do I need to medicate the tank? The second one is My discus has white stringy poop. what sickness is this and how do I fix it? I know I sound like a newbie but any help would be apreciated

Hello, I was just going to create a new post about beard algae myself. It has returned in my planted tank. I had it perhaps a year ago, but it seemed to have disappeared on it's own. It might have happened when I started to bubble CO2 into the tank, but it has come back with a vengeance. I've read that Siamese Algae Eaters are the only fish that will eat it. I'd like to know what others in the forum might have to say.

Regarding you're discus..Is the poop clear? If so, discus will sometimes poop, clear, white, stringy poop. Just keep an eye on it if it does it frequently.

For better results regarding discus, you could also go to and post your health questions there. BTW, I'm a member there as well.
