Water in DIY CO2 line

I just started up my first DIY CO2 bottles and I noticed that there is a little water in the air tubing (about 8"). Do I need to be worried about this or will the pressure just push the water out into the tank on its own?

If you don't have a check valve, you might want to look into getting one. If you do have a check valve, it may need replacing. The pressure from the CO2 will push the water back out, but I usually go ahead and blow it out before hooking up the bottle. Without the check valve, you run the risk of aquarium water going back into your CO2 bottle and the mix then getting pushed back into the tank.

Thanks CherylH, I do have a check valve but I stupidly put the tubing in the water before I put the check valve on. I guess I will just wait for the pressure to build to push the water out.

Just make sure the line doesn't start a siphoning action.

Other than that, water in the line shouldn't be a problem. Just keep a good eye on it.

1) Check valve
2) Put a loop of tubing above your tank so that water can't siphon out during the night.
