I don't know if I can ever go back to regular water again. The water is so clear it's like there is no water and fish are just floating on air.The fish colors look amazing with water this clear. All the little colored reflections off the fish is awesome and the plants colors also really stand out now.

I think I might diatom clean my tank now on a regular bases like every other water change or so.Does this have any bad effect cleaning the water this way?

There are different opinions if DE fixes plant nutrients or not. To be safe, you should do the dosing (if any) after the diatom run.

You WILL get tired of cleaning the mucky yuck though

I'm considering getting one to do weekly water polishing in my 7 gallon ...

Would adding a bag of diamataceous earth work in my AC mini?

Or is there another route I can go with w/o breaking the btank?

I have a LOT better luck with aquatic plants than with houseplants ... mb this is a sign.

I wouldn't use DE in anything not designed for it.This stuff is messy if your not careful as it is.Plus you'd have to have a really fine material small enough to prevent the DE from passing through.

A bag? AC Mini? No.

A HOT Magnum 250 is about $40 @ BigAlsOnline, it does a decent job as a diatom filter... I think that isn't too hard on the pocket, considering that you could use it as a backup filter in case your regular filter goes bad.

Uh just read that you have a 7 gal tank... forget it. That magnum puts out a lot of flow. How about water changes?
