sand/flourite depth

Iv'e got flourite underneath pool filter sand, what is the optimal depth for these 2 layers 2 inches sand 2 inches flourite or what ?

How big of a tank, what plants are you going to have?

125 gal tank and yes Rex I'm redoing it after 1 month because the flourite ends up on top of the sand and it drives me crazy

thats because sand has a finer grain size than flourite so it sifts down. it'll do it everytime. maybe just add more sand on top next time the flourite is showing through...

That will end up with a 125 gallon tank full of a sand/Flourite mix with Flourite on top.
