Question Geographically Accurate Plants?

I really want to set up my own plant aquarium very soon. But, I had a question on the types of plants and fish to be selected. Do most people simply choose plants and fish based on how well they grow and look together, or do people try to create tanks that are correct from a geographic standpoint? For example, has anyone set up an aquarium with only plants and fish you would find in the Amazon river, or Africa, or Asia?

So, I'm curious to know if geography is ever taken into consideration for plant aquariums?

Some people try and do biotope scapes only using plants from one region but most people just put stuff together that looks good and they can grow regardless of where its native to.

I am personally working on a biotope scape, and it is a ton of fun finding the plants around here. It's all up to you though. If you want to try to limit yourself to plants from a specific region, go for it!
