Vinegar

Ok so I got a new 4x65 light for my 60 gallon.

The center brace has a ton of hardwater stains on it which cut out some of the lunar lights.

I know vinegar will remove this quite effectively, but my dilemma is, I cannot pull everything out of my tank to clean this center brace. I can only lower the water level.

Will vinegar destroy anything in my tank if I get a little in there?

No it won't. Lower the water level and use a paper towel or such, folded neatly, so it won't get soaked by tank water. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. Windex would be a different story.

For real bad stains you might need a razor blade in combination with Vinegar.

Just do a good water change when you're done..Vinegar is quite safe but it is an acid, and will lower your PH quite a bit.
