From Plastic Plants to Live Plants

I am considering going from plastic to live plants. I have done a bit of reading (books, and internet) and while I have several questions I will start with just one …

I am planning a using a 23 gallon long aquarium (due to space and equipment I have filters heaters ect and due to the I would like to keep).

Is additional CO2 hardware a requirement for this size of tank.

Thanks! Great Site!!

yooper, welcome to PTF

Co2 hardware may NOT be required.

little more than a 2 liter soda bottle,
some tubing, and an airstone, is all you need
to deliver all the Co2 your plants may require.

It really depends on how much lighting you are using,
and what type of plants you plan on keeping.

tell use more about your lighting, filter
and gravel, and we can guild you further.

Lightin Filter and gravel

Welllll .... I don't having any lighting suitable for growing plants as of yet .. my filter is a Fluval 104 canister (for up to 25 gallons, 120 gallons per hour) and my current gravel I believe is to large for growong plants so that, along with the lighting will be replaced when the new project begins ... I am leaning towards small pea gravel (my current pea gravel is large)

Thanks for the advice
