Well, that's just one issue, here's another and this is prior to the growing season for the weed, this is near Rio Vista in the Delta, it's worse farther inland:



No smelt living under here, think this affects water quality?
This is a win-win for all involved getting rid of these weeds.

this is what scared me... one biologist said...."There are so few smelt out there now that you might as well name them instead of counting them,".

whats more amazing to me is that i can actually say ive noticed a decline in the small fish that congregate in a canal near my work. ive worked from this office for a long time, and have walked my dog throught the canal hundreds of times... every year there are hundreds, if not thousands of these little fish in the canal.. this year, there are very few. also, the crayfish that usually hang out there in great numbers aren't there either... kinda scary.

what is that tom? Eichornia crassipes completely clogging the waterway?
