i cannot find that page that shows how to calculate co2 from KH and other buffers, does anyone have a link?

Or you can go to http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_aquacalc.htm and download Chuck's excellent Windows CO2/Nutrient calculator.

And remember the CO2 chart is not valid if you are using any buffers other than bicarbonates in your tank. And it's not valid if you are using anything other than CO2 to lower the pH.

ok im not using any outside buffers but it states that if you have any phosphates in your tank that it will throw off the chart. Isnt it commonplace and necessary to have a certain degree of phosphates (im waiting for my phos test kit in the mail now)

The normal amounts of phosphates are fine. What will throw you off is high levels of phosphates.
