Not sure where to post this one, but here it goes:

A tank (not mine) is infested with tiny, pin-headed white worms that swim along the glass. Apparently, they look like sperm--a wriggly body and a round, bulbous head. Anyone happen to know what these are off-hand?

Not sure what there scientific name is, but they appear in tanks that are overfeed and/or have messy fish... I used to get them in my Cichlid tanks... Cut back on the feeding and some water changes and they seem to disappear...

But they aren't dangerous to fish/amphibians?

It is my understanding that small fish will eat them... Fish should be fine. Just make sure they are not attaching to fish, if so, we are talking about a different kind of worm..
