Cabomba/Ambulia questions

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if/how I can make cuttings out of the first linked plant. They're the fine-leaved ones on the right of the tank.

It's either a cabomba or an ambulia, I can't tell I was just going to cut it halfway up and plant the top into the flourite, but I thought I better get a second opinion. I'm trying to get a group of them going, I think it would look pretty good. What do you all think?

Also, these plants (also cabomba or ambulia) in the 2nd link aren't growing straight up, they're growing in weird directions. Does anyone know why this could be? At first I thought it was the filter, but the more I look at it, the more it seems that it couldn't be the problem, as some of the plants are growing straight up into the water return.

Sorry for the bigness of the pics.

Either, or. Cut it to the desired length and replant. I find that with Cabomba you are better off just throwing away the bottom part of the plant and just replanting the tops in their place. Isn't necessary, but I find the bottoms never grow as good again and I end up discarding them anyway.
