Aqadvisor.com's Accuracy

Aqadvisors is telling me I can have the following inhabitants in my 20L with an Ehiem 2213 and still be under 100% stocking level.

X10 Rummynose
X10 neon tetra
X10 Pygmy Cory
X1 Assasin Snail

That doesn't seem right to me...

What's the deal with that website?

Do you mean rummy nose tetras or rummy nose rasboras? If you mean the rasboras according to the site you are not 100% stocked.

Pinkman, I have a 20L which means the dimensions are 12x12x30.

Here is a screen shot of a more realistic way I would stock my 20L, but still seems like a lot of fish...

Can I really safely have this many fish or more in my 20L?

It seems like a little much...

I believe it has someone to do with surface area and fish size. Having 10 1" fish produce less waste then 2 5" fish. I have used that website and following water change recommendation all my parameters are very stable. Just remember with a higher stocking things go wrong a lot quicker then a lower stocking level.

If in doubt, add more plants!

My not-enough-plants-but-not-enough-space-to-put-anymore-so-will-start-going-up-box-of-water.

As with any program there are limitations to the site. Originally when it came out it was a stand alone installable program. They then ported it to a webpage.

From why I understand each fish has a minimum water quantity associated with it due to mature body mass and temperament. It is impossible to make a completely accurate program that always works with all combinations.

I do give them kudo's for constantly updating the information to really develop it into the most accurate source that I know of. If you think something is wrong then take a screenshot and post it to their forum once they get it back up.
