Scuds or seed shrimp?

I've been getting conflicting information from the interwebz and I'm getting kind of confused. I've never had an infestation of any kind in all my years of keeping fish and shrimp.

My girlfriend overfed my tank while I was on vacation a couple weeks ago and my tank has been infested since.

They are all along the walls and look like little dots with a "tail". I heard scuds are bigger and are easy to distinguish. The ones I have are dots of the glass that move. Also, I heard that scuds eat moss and my moss looks untouched.

Are these seed shrimp or tiny scuds?

Thanks.

I'd never heard of a scud before (other than the type of missile), but this article says that a scud and a shrimp are the same thing. and if they are, couldn't you just get rid of them by not feeding your fish until they eat all the ones that are already in the tank?

Feed your tank less and they will die off.

Are they white? They could be cyclops???

I have Scuds and they look like weird shrimp. Here is a Scud web page http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/scud.htm

I culture Scuds for my bettas...they love them.

Neither. They sound like copepods, instead. Seed shrimp and scuds (aka amphipods) do not have tails. Copepods have distinct tails and are very small, i.e., the head is the size of a period with a tiny tail attached.
