You might want to cancel that order before it ships. That regulator is designed for hydroponics. It releases a lot more CO2 than what's needed for planted tanks. You probably want http://www.amazon.com/Premium-AQUATEK-Regulator-Integrated-Solenoid/dp/B009WTXYN0/ref=sr_1_2?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1378159259&sr=1-2&keywords=aquatek instead.

I don't understand the difference. Besides the flow gauge. The Deluxe has a gauge with a ball float and the Premium has a bubble counter that I hear is a pain to use.

Others have been in this boat before and typical wind up having to add a needle valve to control the regulator for aquarium use. That bubble counter does look like a pain to use, but the ball float isn't a substitute. I use a JBJ style bubble counter on my set-up.

Here are some links if you want to read a bit more on it:

The point is that regulator isn't designed for aquarium use. Get one that already is.

I did a little research and discovered that difference is that valves used for hydroponic use are measured in volume, not in pressure. The valve probably isn't quite as accurate because it's made to fill areaa much, much larger than a tank. I canceled the order and ordered the Premium. I'm glad you made the comment. I might have been very upset when I got the regulator and discovered it wasn't ideal. You even saved my 10 bucks. The counter that comes with it is a plastic HOB but they do sell a brass and glass one that fits on the valve so I'll get it at another time. I'll work with the HOB in the mean time.

This is the one I use. Like it a lot.
If your only going to run one line from the reg, then get the brass bubble counter that goes with the reg.http://www.amazon.com/Premium-AQUATEK-Regulator-Integrated-Solenoid/dp/B009WTXYN0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378170962&sr=8-1&keywords=aquatek+co2+regulatorhttp://www.amazon.com/Premium-AQUATEK-Regulator-Integrated-Solenoid/dp/B009WTXYN0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378170962&sr=8-1&keywords=aquatek+co2+regulator by AQUATEK OF CALIFORNIA
