So I went yardsailing today.....

How did I do? Mind you, I got all this for $15.

One MASSIVE piece of driftwood (I might put this in my snake's tank for now)

A bunch of smaller pieces of driftwood

A whisper 50gl filter

Carbon bags and foam

And about 12+ soft-ball sized lava rocks (along with a huge one!)

I think I made out alright! Best thing is; The guy had at one point, had 10 planted aquariums. He also had the same name as me, too weird. Either way - great find. Anyone else have luck with yard sales?

Drift wood has been my best find, so much cheaper then lfs! That wood would sell 30+ on aquabid. Good job!

The big piece he gave to me for a buck, said it was in his long tank for over 5 years and it's starting to come apart. He said he even felt bad charging me anything for it, one man's trash I suppose.

Unfortunately, I just ordered some DW online. It was only 5 bucks (plus shipping), but who knew I would run into this gold mine? I suppose that's how it goes.

I didn't know what was meant by yardsailing, but I had it in my head the picture would be of the aftermath from someone running into the house, the fence, a car, etc. after sailing across the yard.

Good finds. Can't go wrong with the decor for that price. That stuff can be expensive.
