Question SAE behavior

It looks like my SAEs were having seizures or something.

I have not seen them do this since I recorded it happening. This was right after a water change and it was during the winter I think maybe it was just shock from the cold water.

I have also seen them do what looks like fighting:

Has anyone else seen SAEs do things like this?

You should be trying to match the temperature of the water going in with what's already in there, putting in 'cold' water is a really bad bad you could be right about the reason.

SAE's can get very territorial with one another and you could very well find you will end up with only one in the end highlander style. I've never had SAE myself, but after having CAE's I'll never ever ever have anything even remotely similar in my tank again.

First video could be stress from the cold water.

Second video, seems to be normal behavior for them since mine do it too. I have 4 at about 4-5 inches and they do that pretty often. BUT I don't think its territorial behavior, more of a hierarchy since all 4 of mine school 95% of the time. I never had CAE (nor do I want any with my current stocking), but SAE keep to themselves and like each other's company (as long as the boss isn't challenged!) very much. At least, that's my experience with them.
