Substrate & Lighting Fixture

In the process of buying substrate, filter and lighting hood for SeaClear 20Gallon tank.

Filter - SunSun 303 HW

Substrate - 20LBS CaribSea Eco Complete + 15lbs of Flourish or Florite?
Will eco complete can be mixed with other substrate?

Lighting Hood - the one came with the tank is useless, so I am thinking of getting one under $50(tight budget). No LED. Just T5Ho.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GV50DK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AE6EGRCACMRIMI found this fixture under my budget but I am not sure about the reliability of these fixtures.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Gokul

You can mix eco complete with flourite as long as they come with the same color (just for the look of it) and I believe 35lb of them should be enough for your tank.

I have the same fixture but only 20" and I have to say I really like it. I even have to raise the light up a little bit because it give me too much light and I need CO2 with it. You can grow everything with it even red plants.

I have a 10 gallon tank with 20lb eco-complete and 20" Odyssea fixture (on for 8 hours) and this is my tank:

WoW. That's a nice planted tank you have.

So do you mean a 20" would work for me? I have a 20 Gallon tank, dimensions are 24*13*16.

I am just planning to keep Dwarf Hair Grass, Needle Leaf Fern, Anubias Coffeefolia, Anubias Petite, Jungle Vals, limnophila aromatic and few others. Will this lighting be sufficient for these plants, I am sure it is for Anubias and Fern but not sure about others.

The product description do not have lumens and par information/

My tank is only 20" long. If you plan to go with high light and more high tech...better to go with 24" to fit your tank better
