72g bow front build.

My 72 and all her glory I really hated getting rid of my reef, but time to get to work and move in another direction. Going back to what I know, Reef keeping.

Look foward to seeing what you do with this tank. My 72 was set up as a saltwater also and decided to go fresh with it. Now it is currently housing angels and various tetras. The discus would look really good, if you are buying smaller discus I know it is recommended to keep them in a bare bottom tank to make it easier on doing all the water changes needed. Thought about discus myself, but decided that the time needed to raise them properly just wouldn't work for me at this time.

Try saf-t-sorb for a natural looking substrate. Looks good, it's cheap, and works great for plants when used with root tabs.

Yeah, the Mississippi is pretty turbid...not sure if that makes it dirty, necessarily.

Can't wait to see how this turns out! Sounds like a good stock!

You can get STS at Tractor supply. It's $4.99 for a 50# bag. I used 2 bags in a 125g, gave me about a 3" depth.

STS= saf-t-sorb. Lighting on my tank is 3 clamp lights with 23w 6500k cfl's and a 4' shoplight with 2-32w 6500k daylight deluxe t8 bulbs.
